Pets for adoption

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! We are in need of weekday volunteers. If you are looking for something to do morning hours, we have a job for you!! Mon-Fri from 9-12, we need cat room cleaners. This consist of litter boxes, sweeping, mopping and laundry. If you are interested, please call the shelter and ask for Liz.	*Please Read:* We had the honor of giving Aphrodite, Spencer, Coraline, Doe, Checker, Pan, and Peach with her puppies a new chance at life. By working with friends of ours in the south, we were able to take these wonderful dogs out of a full shelter just in time. Due to the unfortunate amount of strays, the dogs are not able to have much time in shelters. The staff does everything they can in order to save innocent lives, including paying the cost to transport them up north. Anybody would be lucky to add one of these fantastic animals to their family. Please stop in and give one of them a chance for happiness.
I WENT HOME!! Aphrodite - Female - 1 year Rotti mix - 81.7 lbs. My name is Aphrodite and like my name sake, you'll fall in love just by laying your eyes on me. I love to give kisses and have my belly rubbed. I'm a young girl and need to learn all basic obedience, but my silly antics will make training a very fun experience. Dogs are fun to play with, however I can be extremely obnoxious to the kitty cats. It's not my fault, I just don't know any better yet…. Children are also great amusement to me. The only concern my friends here have is my size, so a tough kid would be best. Come in to meet me, I'm sure to liven up any home!	I WENT HOME!! Bubba - male - 5 years Chow mix - 68.9 lbs. Hello! My name is Bubba and I am a Chow mix. I am 5 years old and act like I’m much younger! I enjoy running around the fenced yard and playing keep away with the staff here!! Don’t worry they always laugh with me so I assume they’re having fun too. I like other dogs and don’t mind the kitty cats either. Children are alright but I would prefer to live with someone over the age of seven. I do need a few minutes to warm up to someone new, but I love to make friends. Come in and meet me, you will not be sorry!
I WENT HOME!! Max-A-Million - Male - 2 years Papillon mix - 19.8 lbs. My name is Max-A Million and I am a super little guy! I love to sit in laps and give out kisses. My favorite thing to do is dance for you. I adore being with my people and would do best in a home where someone can cuddle with me all day. Children 10 and above are my preference, I do not like when someone sneaks up on me. It makes me jump! Cats are no problem in my eyes, and I am already housebroken. If you're looking for a companion to hang out with all day, then I believe we would be the perfect match.	I WENT HOME!! Doe - Female - 2 years Lab mix - 55 lbs. I am a silly and sweet young lady. I love to play and have attention poured on me. I can live with dogs, cats, and kids 9 and above. A basic obedience class would be beneficial for me, I don’t know many manners yet but I’m willing to learn!! If you love to run and hike, then I’m the girl for you.
Pan - Male - 8 years Lab mix - 60.9 lbs. I am one of the gentlest guys you’ll ever meet. I love to sit in laps (who says I’m too big) and give out kisses! I am cat and calm dog friendly, as long as someone is around to scratch my ears I don’t care about much. I do have arthritis, so calm children would be best. At times I can be nervous meeting new people, but I warm up and attach so quickly you’ll forget I ever barked. I’ve had a run of bad luck in the past and am just hoping that it will all be worth it when I finally find my way home.	Princess Peach - Female - 2 years Viszla/Lab mix - 54.3 lbs. I enjoy being treated like the princess that I am. Right now I am nursing my eight babies and boy that sure takes a lot out of you! Unfortunately I didn’t receive the best prenatal care so I’m currently trying to regain lost nutrients. My friends here call me a gentle soul, I'm very sweet and love attention. I’m fine with cats and not sure of other dogs right now, I don’t like them near my babies. I can be adopted, but I can’t go home yet. My children need to be weaned first. You can still come in and fall in love with me though!
ADOPTION PENDING!! Spencer - Male - 1 year old Pointer - 41.5 lbs. Hi!!!! I’m Spencer and man I LOVE to play!!! I’m young, exuberant and am always looking for a playmate. My manners need some work, I love to jump up and give hugs. Basic obedience is something I require, I’m so willing to learn and just want you to love me. Tomkin - Male - 8 years German Shepherd - 72.5 lbs. My name is Tomkin and I am a wonderful boy, (I'm told that a lot!). I may be older but I still love to chase tennis balls and go for leisurely strolls. My favorite toys are stuffed animals, I do not shred them, I love to just carry them everywhere I go. People are the most important things to me, I love them so much, I just can't stand the thought of sharing them with any other animal. For this reason, I need to be the only pet. Being a German Shepherd, I do have some minor issues I feel you should know about. It's never good to start a new relationship based on lies they say!! I have arthritis in spine and weaker back legs. So, I tend to have a prominent slope in my walk and stance. I can keep up though! I am also on a Low Residue diet only, I have a sensitive belly…. Well, if you think that you can look past these minor obstacles and are truly searching for an at your side type of guy, then I'm the one for you!!	ALL THE PUPPIES HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!! We're very happy to say every puppy has found a new and loving family and would like to thank all involved for making this such a pleasurable day!
I WENT HOME!! Sonny - Female - 10 years Chihuahua - 6.4 lbs. I’m an older gal with a lot of sass! I love everyone and anyone I meet. You know, I’m such a sweet girl, that I even share my “room” with Ben, who is a little on the scared side right now. I’m dog, cat, and kid friendly. Nothing beats curling up UNDER my bed!! I have a ton of love to give and am just waiting for someone who wants to receive it all!	I WENT HOME!! Benjamin - Male - 10 years Papillon mix - 10.4 lbs. I'm not very good in front of crowds, so please forgive my nerves. Well, they call me Ben and I'm currently sharing a “room” with Sonny. I feel safer with her around, we just met here, but she's nice. I think that my new home should have a nice dog to, that would make me feel secure. I also like cats, as long as they don't hit me. It hurts when they do that and I'm not a fighter so I just end up with cuts on me. I'm looking for a home that is calm, quiet, and patient. I do want to be friends, it just takes some time for me to trust. Please feel free to come in to meet me, I'll be the one quietly waiting in the corner.
I WENT HOME!! Annie - Female - 9 years Beagle - 27.8 lbs. Let me start by saying I may be older but I have so much more life to live! My perfect day consists of breakfast followed by an invigorating walk. A light snack would be greatly appreciated afterwards and then some lap time with lots of head scratching. We can enjoy a fulfilling dinner and curl up on the couch to watch television. Doesn't that sound perfect? I can share my home with cats and dogs but would do best with older children. Don't get me wrong, I love to spend time with kids however I'm not always good about my food and sometimes young children just do not understand that. I'm not very big and promise not to take up too much room. Please come in to meet me, hopefully I'll see you soon.	I WENT HOME!! Mike - Male - 5 years Cattle Dog mix - 55.1 lbs. My name is Mike and I am fantastic!! I am cat, dog, and children friendly. I enjoy attention but will not demand it from you. I do have a few minor issues you should be aware of. First, I have hip displaysia, right now I'm taking rimadyl but will only need it when necessary, I am also being treated for Lyme disease. Second, I am on a special diet, I have allergies and need to eat Z/D food only. You can buy it from your vet's office and I'm only one dog so it won't cost much! I have no possession problems and will walk away when you go near my bowl. I have no problem being hugged or pulled on and enjoy a deep tissue massage after dinner! My friends at the Shelter have one thing to say, “Everyone wants to be like Mike!”.

ROMEO is a 10 month old, male Chow Mix. This silly boy has a great personality and quite possibly the softest fur you will ever feel. Romeo is quite the lover boy and will certainly steal your heart once you meet him face to face. This guy gets along well with other dogs and loves children and he can try to live with cats but he may drive them a little crazy. Romeo is well mannered but he could certainly benefit from basic obedience training to perfect his basic commands. If you always wanted a living, breathing teddy bear, this is your boy.
