Valentino is our Pet of The Day!
Valentino is a sweet and playful kitty who gets along great with everyone. He loves people and seems to do great with other cats and even dogs. He is highly affectionate but laid back and would settle in well in almost every home- no matter if it is a quiet or an active home. Valentino is the oldest cat we have at The Guild right now, and we estimate he is about 15. However, this boy doesn't let his age slow him down! He loves to play with toys and is a very curious and social cat. Valentino also wins our award for biggest cat, weighing in at 19.75 lbs when he came to us! He is doing great on his diet and is already down to 18lbs, but would do even better in a home of his own where he could play with his toys, snuggle his people, and enjoy the many years he has left to love and be loved.

Barbara BenedictI would take him. I took in a cat at the age of 20 and had a year of great joy with her. She was so loving and willing to go on adventures with me. My Boris is 17 now....he came from the Guild but he was not in a cage. I would take in all the cats so that they don't have to spend any time in a cage! My cats are outdoors cat that can come and go as they please. My neighbors love to see them especially the elderly.21 hours ago · 1

Silver Fox Alert! Today's Pet Of The Day is Little Bear. LB is a 10 year old Shih Tzu mix.
This handsome older gentleman loves showing of the latest in dog-fashion when he joins you for an evening winter stroll. When not out on the town, LB's pastimes include keeping you company by the fire on a cold winter's night and napping his cares away on a sunny patch of grass. Other than his daily walks, LB isn't much of an athlete, but he does get along well with other four-legged teammates- both of the dog and cat variety. LB is a distinguished and laid back gentleman who would adapt well to almost any home. Like many seniors, he does have some health issues (mostly allergy and arthritis related) and will need to be on medication, however these conditions are easily managed.

Today's Pet Of The Day is Pretty Girl!
True to her name, this is one gorgeous cats! But not only is she pretty, she has a very sweet and wonderful personality as well. She loves to be around people and is very affectionate. She's not one to just get by on her looks alone, she is an active and playful kitty who will keep you entertained for the many years to come. She loves to play with her toys and would do great in either an active home or a quite home where she could be the star of the show! Pretty Girl would do well either as an only pet, or in a home with a mellow dog or cat. ... See MoreSee Less

Today's Pet of the Day is Mia!
Mia is a sweet 4.5 year old Ridgeback/Pit mix who is looking for her forever home! Mia came to us because her owner sadly passed away. She loves people and attention so losing her human has been very tough on her. Just spend a few minutes with her you will see her amazing personality start to shine through.
Mia is very affectionate, sweet and just eager to please. She knows all of her basic commands (sit, stay, paw, down, etc...) is completely housebroken and does great in a home, she doesn't even need to be crated! Mia appears to be fine with cats (if a bit intimidated by them). Due to the rough time she has had losing her former owner, we believe that she should likely be the only dog in the home so that she can get all the snuggles, love and attention that she deserves!
Mia is very playful and fun to be around. She loves toys, playing in the yard, and doing anything that involves being with people. She would make a great buddy for adventures and walks, but if her biggest adventure is spending time in the yard followed by a night curled up next to you she would love that too!

We are always so humbled by the help, support, and love that The Little Guild gets from our community and supporters! Just in the past week we've had a wonderful outpouring of support.
The students at Housatonic Valley HS donated the results of a donation drive that they planned and organized for us.
A local Girl Scouts troop came for a tour and to learn more about what we do and why animal rescues, spaying and neutering, and animal advocates are important (and to cuddle some puppies!).
And a very generous couple decided that for their wedding registry in lieu of gifts they would register for items to help animal in need!
All donations are always so appreciated, not only to support the animals in our shelter but to also help us support the animals in our community through our Pet Pantry. Our Pet Pantry is something we keep stocked at all times with dog and cat food, litter, toys, collars and leashes, bowls, etc... these items are for members of our community who find themselves in a tough spot and they are welcome to come take anything to help them care and support their pets and keep more pets in their homes! ... Whew that is some snowstorm out there! Abby is our Pet Of The Day and she recommends snuggling down with a warm blanket and staying inside!
Abby is a very sweet and affectionate cat. She is one of longest residents here at The Guild (over a year!) but none of us know why someone hasn't scooped her up yet. She is a friendly, yet independent cat, content having snuggle time and then doing her own thing. Abby would do well as an only pet, but could also live with another laid back cat, or even a dog. This sweet senior is about 10 years old and would love a place to call her own as she enters the second half of her life.
Warm Abby's heart on this snowy day and fill out an application for her at LittleGuild.org ... See MoreSee Less
