Negan is a sweetheart of a dog who is looking for his perfect forever home! Negan was found as a stray in Mohawk State Park, however we don’t think he was a stray for very long, as he was in great condition. Negan came to us housebroken, knowing how to sit, shake, and lie down, so he was probably someone’s pet who decided they no longer wanted.
Negan acts like a big ol’ puppy and is very energetic and playful. He loves to go for walks or runs with the volunteers or staff at the Guild, and also enjoys playing fetch in one of our play yards. Once he has burned off a little bit of his puppy energy, Negan settles down and would be so happy with a couch or dog bed to snuggle down on by your side. Negan has done well with the dogs he has met, but he is a big boy and does get very excited and playful around other dogs, so we would recommend he go to a home with medium or large playful dogs. Negan has done so well here at the shelter, despite being very scared and confused when he first came to us (and who can blame him when his previous human obviously just dumped him in the woods!?). Due to his size and general exuberance for life, we are recommending that Negan go to a home that is experienced with larger dogs. Negan is a staff favorite here at the Guild, but would love a home to call his own!
